Busch & Müller Dynamo Light Mounts

Busch & Müller makes a wide variety of mounts for headlights and taillights, both dynamo powered and battery powered. Dynamo headlights generally include a mount for the fork crown, using either caliper brakes or disc brakes. But if your bike has certain types of cantolever brakes, you'll need a different mount. And if you'll be mounting your dynamo headlight on the handlebar, you'll need a different type of mount altogether.

Starting from the top of the page, I'll first describe the handlebar mounts, and then the fork crown mounts.

Below the headlight mounts, you'll find Busch & Müller's taillight mounts.

Single Arm aluminum handlebar mounts for bars from 25.4mm - 31.8mm, and another for 35mm

Two versions. One for 25.4mm - 31.8mm handlebars, and another version for 35mm handlebars.

B&M470LHA25/31PB Black Anodized, For 25.4mm to 31.8mm bars $42.00
B&M470LHA35PB Black Anodized, For 35mm bars. $42.00

Dual clamp nylon mount for bars 25.4mm to 31.8mm

chainring

B&M470LHPB Dual Clamps, one on each side of the stem, with the headlight inbetween $20.00

B&M CYO stainless steel with short base for use with caliper brakes with tight clearance between the for and the tire.

chainring

Short base for use with caliper brakes with tight clearance between the fork and the tire or mudguard. The photo shows the correct dimensions, but this mount has a regular stainless steel finish, not black. This mount is included in several headlights, including the CYO Premium.

B&M475DPB Black Anodized, 90 degree (short) $5.00

B&M CYO Cantilever Mount.

chainring

For use with cantilever brakes, so that the mount is underneath the yoke.

B&M475DUPB Stainless Steel $10.00

B&M CYO Long Extension Caliper Mount

chainring

The CYO Long Extension mount raises the headlight so that the bottom of the beam isn't blocked as much by the tire. Modern dynamo headlights from Busch & Müller have rather tall beams which not only illuminate the road well ahead of you, but also close to the bike. So if you're riding on urban roads with lots of debris you can more easily see the road close to you.
B&M474DLPB Stainless Steel $6.00

B&M CYO Long Base Stainless mount

chainring

The long base enables adjusting the height of the headlight. Suitable for unicrown forks and cantilever or disc brakes. Don't use with most forged fork crowns and caliper brakes since the mount will either butt up against the headset, or extend below the bottom of the crown into the tire or mudguard.

B&M475D1PB CYO long base, stainless steel $5.00

B&M Fly Short Mounts

chainring

This stainless steel mount positions your headlight at the fork crown as low as possible to create the most clearance above the headlight for a handlebar bag. You'll sacrifice some illumination of the road close to your front wheel because the shadow from the front tire will extend further forward. But that may well be a good trade-off to make it possible to use a larger handlebar bag. Available in stainless finish and in black.

B&M474DPB Fork Crown, Fly, Short, Stainless $
B&M474DS Fork Crown, Fly, Short, Black, Stainless $6.00

B&M Stainless Security Bolt Set

chainring

This stainless steel bolt and nut replaces a standard bolt and nut for securing your headlight to the mount. You'll need a T20 "torx" wrench to tighten or loosen this nut and bolt. While a mount is shown in this photo, a mount is not included with the bolt set, but only shown here to show the size of the bolts.

B&M475ISS/ISM Stainless steel security bolt for headlight mounting $10.00

B&M Single Hole Taillight Mount

chainring

If your rear rack has a single hole in the rear that will take a bolt which faces in the direction of travel, you can mount this bracket into that hole and then you'll have the 50mm and 80mm mounting points for any of the Busch & Müller rack mount taillights such as the DToplight XS Plus above.

B&MBKS Single Hole Taillight Mount $17.50

B&M T Bracket Taillight Mount

chainring

If your rack has no hole in the rear but does have either a top plate or some cross braces, this T bracket can be clamped to the top of your rack and then the taillight can be bolted to it. The fore/aft length is 155mm. See the photo below.

chainring

B&MBKT T Bracket Taillight Mount $15.00

B&M Saddle Rail Mount

chainring

New as of 2016, the saddle rail mount clips onto the saddle rails just behind the seat post clamp and provides the 50mm bolt spacing for rack mount taillights. Obviously, this won't work if you have a saddle bag back there.

B&M427SH B&M Saddle Rail Mount $16.50
