TA Chainring Bolts & Spacers

TA makes high quality chainring bolts and spacers for their own cranksets, as well as for other brands of cranksets. I stock most of them.

Standard chainring bolts for traditional cranks

crank

Standard chainring bolts and nuts come in a variety of lengths, but the threading is always 8mm diameter by .75mm pitch. I stock steel and aluminum. Steel bolts & nuts are chrome plated. Aluminum are anodized.

A "set" includes a bolt and nut, times the number in parenthesis.

Unless otherwise noted, aluminum chainring bolts & nuts use a TORX T30 driver for the bolt, and steel use a 5mm allen for the bolt.

TA Pro 5 Vis Chainring Bolts

aka Cyclotourist

Pro 5 Vis chainrings and hardware have been copied by other manufacturers over the years, including Stronglight (model 49) and Sugino. So TA hardware should be compatible.

Spacers for Spider Compensation

Huh?

I'll explain. Many cranks have tabs on the spider that are rather thin, and if you use chainrings designed for a standard 3.5mm tab thickness, the two rings of a double, and the middle and outer rings of a triple will end up positioned too close together. So TA makes these .5mm spacers to go between either the outer side or the inner side of the tabs, increasing the thickness and allowing the user to get the right clearance between the middle ring of a triple and the inner ring. You either put a spacer between the tab and the middle position ring of a triple, or you put a spacer between the outer ring and the tab. There are two different sizes because if you put a spacer to the outside it needs to fit around an 8mm male thread. If you put it on the inside, it needs to fit around the 10mm outside diameter of the nut.

TAVP-ER01100 TA spacer for spider compensation 10.2mm x 12.8mm x 0.5mm $1.00
TAVP-ER11100 TA spacer for spider compensation 8.5mm x 12.mm x 0.5mm $0.20
